about...

born on dec. 23rd, 1976 in vallejo, ca, i was raised in the hills of berkeley; i attended
highschool at bishop o'dowd in oakland, ca and graduated in 1995. while there i had
excellent teachers in art, ceramics and fiction writing. though encouraged to attend
college (CCA was my goal), i skipped the experience to delve into life instead.

i then spent a few years in santa cruz, a few in san francisco, and ended up in the u.s.
army for a brief stint (i mean brief...i came home right after completing basic. i then
landed in reno for five years during which i established myself as a musician, billing as
"tacytraverso.com". you can still access my musical life:

i bored of reno and moved to georgia for no particular reason. while there, i bought a
house, learned about the south, and decided i didn't like it so i moved back to california.

back home, i decided to give college a shot and am still attending. i was accepted into
CCA last year, but the price tag doesn't justify the experience, so i hope to attend one
of the locally esteemed 4-year schools and earn my degree in english/writing/art.

now, what about painting?

i have always made art; i can't remember a time when i haven't. i have always written,
and again, can't remember a time when i haven't (except, before i learned to write, of
course). painting calms me, and fascinates me. to paint the feelings i have at the
moment and then see the final image as successfully expressing those emotions is a
wonderous process.
